How do sharing rules work in Connections[Beta]

In Connections[Beta], users can see all (and only) the data associated with the movement(s) they are affiliated with.

Here’s an example:

Student Leader Allison is a Small Group Leader at Cru UCLA. Allison gets added as a user and can see all of the Contacts, Inbox records, and Groups & Events at Cru UCLA.

Staff Leader Bryce helps lead the ministries of Cru at UCLA and Epic at UCLA. Bryce is added as a user and can see all of the Contacts, Inbox records, and Groups & Events with Cru at UCLA and Epic at UCLA.

Student Leader Allison won’t be able to see any data from Epic at UCLA because she is not in that movement. But, Epic at UCLA needs help with Follow-Up for the Fall Outreach and asks Allison to help. A local admin can add Allison to the Epic at UCLA group. Once that happens, Allison can see everything in Epic at UCLA. Allison’s affiliation (and her access) to Epic at UCLA can be removed at any time.

To summarize- access to Contacts, Inbox records, and Groups & Events depend on which movement(s) users are affiliated with. Affiliations are flexible and easy to change.
