They might be involved students or student leaders. They might be a student who is open/responding about the possibility of getting involved or coming to something.
They might have come to a large group meeting. They might have said they’re interested in playing Spikeball with you. They might have said they are busy but want to come next week.
Contacts are where you find people you want to connect with beyond the initial attempt(s).
