Community is not an activity but an environment people experience. Sometimes this environment develops very naturally, but sometimes we need to be more intentional in building a relationships where people experience grace and truth.  Being a part of a community or team will strengthen you personally and help you to accomplish things you never could have done on your own!

THE POWER OF COMMUNITY

Some suggestions to help you build your community:

  • Visit other campuses together- Take friends from your university and participate in Cru meetings and activities at another university. This will  help to strengthen the friendships among the students involved across your city or region. It also increases the sense of ownership of the movement, as you all seek to help and encourage each other.
  • Fun social gatherings- Picnics, parties, games night, watching movies together, etc. The sky’s the limit on things that you can do to build deep relationships and have fun together.
  • Pray for each other- Enjoying fellowship through prayer can be a powerful way to build close relationships within the movement. As you authentically share your hearts and pray for one another, you will begin to experience deeper and deeper friendships with one another.
  • Missional Community- Real Community is not just about getting together for fellowship, or even Bible study and prayer. Biblical Community is always rooted in Jesus’ call to make disciples and how we can help one another to do that.
